Very easy to assemble Yes it's not REAL wood but it does NOT look cheap and strong Be careful when moving around as the interior shelves will lock and fall out I have Took about 10 minutes. I wish there were options to make the slots smaller to have extra shelves. I will definitely be buying another one in the future. This is great for getting those unorganized stacks of paper off the table, sorted and organized easily accessible and helps get rid of it I helped him pick it up so I can put it where I would like it most Looks professio nell, tidy and great looking Suitable for a home office and looks like it's going to last a long time while I'm a musician, teacher and graduate student - I finally have a place to place and organize musical hands in ONE place.
