Review on HME Products Ground Trail Camera by Brad Blake

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Unpacking with shipping/handling is a challenge!

Start with the least liked . The hard plastic shipping bracket on top and bottom even outperforms the Costco packaging which is really difficult to remove. I had to use a regular screwdriver to get under the clips, pry them up a bit, and then pry them out with needle nose pliers. The plastic breaks into large, dangerous pieces ready to cut your fingers. The button to unlock the up and down tube doesn't even work on my 6 foot animal son. The swingarm only moves up and down, not in circles. Instructions As with many Revain products, these are not really instructions. Luckily I'm related to Rube Goldberg and can understand how most things work, even with poor guidance or often no guidance at all. What's good: Once implemented, the swingarm only moves up and down. Once you have the mount in the ground and point the camera where you want it and stand the camera up, it works very well for centering up and down. The tip of the peninsula penetrated the ground slightly. (It hasn't rained here for more than 6 weeks, so the ground was very hard. When my boot was on the stand holder, it went into the hard ground easily.) The camera was easy to screw on and I could see the height and angle set without problems. If it holds up and still works after the California winter and spring monsoons, I will increase the rating. As you put the mount in the ground and point the camera to where you want it and adjust the camera it works very well for centering up and down.
