Good Smart Light Bulb Lights

This review is for a set of 4 Wi-Fi smart bulbs. They look like standard bulbs and are the same size as most other light bulbs, so they should fit in whatever light bulb you have. In the brightest light, they're about the size of an old 60-watt lightbulb, so not very bright, but good enough for general lighting. Being only 7W LEDs, they use very little power and last a very, very long time. To install them you need to download their app (Magic Home), install a lightbulb, find the lightbulb on your phone, connect it to Wi-Fi and then you can control it from your phone. I was using an Android phone but should work similarly with other devices. Within seconds the first lightbulb was found and connected to the internet without any problems. The second was more difficult. I tried resetting it (turning it on and off a few times) and ended up installing it manually, which wasn't hard at all. Each option guides you through what needs to be done, none of which were difficult. I have two other smart lightbulbs at home so I hooked them up to the internet a few years ago and it seemed just as complicated. This is not the kind of lightbulb you put in your parents or grandparents house unless they are tech savvy. Once installed, it has many settings. Of course you can turn it on and off via the app, you can also switch between "warm" and "cold" white light, make it darker or lighter or choose from 1,000 colors with the color wheel. It has a scheduler that allows you to turn the light on and off at different set times. There are other settings such as adjusting the light color to suit the object or using it with music. I haven't played with all the settings yet and probably won't. 99% of the time I want a white light, I can change that on vacation, but I mostly leave the others on white and make them brighter or darker from time to time. I suspect they will also be white 99% of the time. I have looked at the colors available and there is a good range to choose from. They all appear a bit dimmer than white light, but that's to be expected. There are only two downsides. First, they use a different application than the one I had. So now I have some lights that I can control with "Magic App" and some with another app. So if you want to control all your lights with one app, you have to buy the same brand every time. But these are LEDs so they should last 10+ years so if you only have 4 lights you want to control this pack of 4 will take care of it (or for more than 4 you can buy more than one pack). . Another downside is that the firmware had to be updated after I installed the bulb. Before you could do anything after connecting the lamp, you were asked if you want to update the firmware. I guess that means they are always working to do a better job, but I wish they could ship the bulbs with the current firmware version instead of forcing you to update them after you get them to your home have installed. In general they are very good. They do exactly what they are supposed to do, they are fairly easy to install and should last a very long time.

Pros
  • Schedule & Timer: Schedule your smart light bulb on and off time with your smartphone, schedule your favorite light color for different occasions. Requires a smartphone (Andriod or IOS) and Wi-Fi
Cons
