After the carburetor repair, my bike ran terribly rich and would not idle. When I ripped it apart again and tested the needle seat with water, I found that the needle wasn't sealing and just kept taking in water. After you put the old needle valve back in place and tested it with water, it will be tight and the carburetor will stop sucking water if the needle valve is tight. I spent the extra money on a premium gasket kit and am very disappointed with the failed parts. I've worked in a car service for over 20 years so I know what I'm doing.
