Needle won't close. I took it apart again, put in the old needle, the problem went away. I see I'm not the only one with this problem.

As a beginner I would like a better description of all the parts used for what. I have a lot of gasket parts left over, I have of course used different carburetor models but the kit completed what I had rebuilt.

This conversion kit contains all the parts needed to convert a CV carburetor on a Harley Buell motorcycle. It featured a four-armed needle to keep the needle in line with the sidewall of the seat and had a thick accelerator body gasket. James gasket kits are good. You get what you pay for.

After the carburetor repair, my bike ran terribly rich and would not idle. When I ripped it apart again and tested the needle seat with water, I found that the needle wasn't sealing and just kept taking in water. After you put the old needle valve back in place and tested it with water, it will be tight and the carburetor will stop sucking water if the needle valve is tight. I purchased this product to restore my motorcycle and found it had everything I needed to complete the job. I will note that there are no instructions telling you exactly where to find gaskets/o-rings, just a list of what you have in the box. But it's not very difficult to match the removed parts to the parts, if you keep everything in order on the workbench you should be able to match the whole.
