Review on GE Lighting 82143 50 Watt Floodlight by Charity Holloway

I replaced nine 50 watt halogen bulbs in an existing track light in my house to get the better reading light promised by GE Reveal. The light quality is very good - bright and very comfortable temperature. But within three months of installation, with no more than a few hours of use per day, five of the nine lamps failed. Our experience with such 50W halogen lamps in this track configuration is about 2-3 years. I hope it's just an accident - a bad batch of lightbulbs, but I only know the results I see. These are expensive lamps and a failure rate of more than 50% in less than 90 days is not justified, even if only for a few batches. I'm sending them back, hopefully on credit and not as a replacement.
