Review on KidKraft Girls Uptown Dollhouse Furniture by Curtis Donjuan

Fantastic but with a few flaws

This is an amazing dolls house. It's huge and very good value for money. It is equipped with several pieces of furniture, including a refrigerator, a grill, a keyboard and a bathtub. The toilet makes a flushing noise, the key plays a little and the wall lamp works. The assembly is what you would expect. It takes several hours, I think it took us about three. Parts are clearly labeled but not packaged in the way you might expect. At first we thought the furniture box was all the furniture, but we also found a few numbered pieces inside. It's best to have another person assemble as some sections require you to hold them in place while fiddling around with small screws. You'll need some floor space to arrange the pieces if possible. Just a few things we noticed. The front of the lift is flexible plastic and ripped when we bent it to assemble. The elevator does not move smoothly. We lubricated it and it still moves heavily. Our niece is 4 years old and she will not be able to move it. We will try to fix this before Christmas. The pool is fantastic but there was a crack in the bottom which we can fix with some caulk on the bottom. Some of the screws are painted to match the color, but we didn't seem to have the right amount of a few colors. The kitchen and bedroom floors are not reinforced on the right side. It's too early to tell if this will make a difference when used. In any case, we can try to find backup ourselves. The dollhouse is made of fiberboard, wood and plastic. We couldn't get a screw into the deck frame. This does not affect the durability. All in all, it wasn't too bad to put together, and it's a darn good dollhouse for a beginner.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
