Last spring I was looking for oil filters for my boat, which is equipped with two 4.3 liter GM V6 engines. In the past I've used Purolator, Sierra, and even <sigh> Fram Ultra Guards once. I've never tried Mobil oil filters, so I figured they weren't much bigger than what I bought. Let's try it. I now use these oil filters on a fuel injected boat and only use synthetic motor oil. I don't change the engine oil until I have 100 hours on each engine. With my other oil filters, the oil was dirty halfway through the interval, but with Mobil oil filters, I noticed that the oil became much clearer and not as dark. Having owned the boat for 12 years, doing all the maintenance myself and always using the same engine oil, I have to say that the Mobil oil filters do a really good filtration job. They seem solid (purolators can dent you just by squeezing the oil filter hard enough) so I know the oil filter won't burst or anything after cruising in the boat for 4-5 hours at 3600rpm. . In general, I applied! I just ordered 2 more for my next oil change!
