I was just cooking some pork belly in my slow cooker and when I took it out and started shredding (pulling) the meat to cook kalua pig (pork). , I remembered buying these gloves to work with sugar. Given that the temperature of the pork is much cooler than the temperature of the pulled sugar, it probably would have been easy to pull the pork out and get it out of the way very quickly, but that wasn't the case. About 15 seconds after I cut the meat, my fingers started burning through the gloves. I was immediately upset knowing I had ordered two pairs of these gloves thinking that one day I might be able to pull sugar. But now I know I can't. If these gloves can't even withstand the temperature of cooked pork, then they certainly can't withstand the temperature of shredded sugar. I was very disappointed and threw away the gloves. I will order sugar work gloves but most likely from another company. What a pity.
