I like that it's lightweight, but the part on mine that has a cam lock to attach the base to mine was the hex bolt > mother not secured. I set up a telescope (less than 7 pounds) and everything was fine except for a little head wiggle and when I picked it up to go to the back yard, a slight tilt, and next thing I know, my telescope fall to the ground. I found the part that engages the cam, there was a hex bolt and nut that were unsecured. The cam lock, cam spring and nut just haven't been tested, so I'm hoping now that my newly purchased telescope (Orion 90mm MAK-Cass) won't be damaged and the optics won't move. For a camera or camera this should be fine, but I want to play it safe and try to find a telescope that may or may not be damaged. Again, it might be fine for a camera, cell phone, or binoculars, but now I'll have to look elsewhere for a tripod that's less than 7 pounds safer to carry. And I also hope that my telescope and/or a new eyepiece (to be purchased separately) will be included. You know.
