Water drain, no pump
A little over 2 months later I had to replace this water pump on my '98 BMW 318ti. On the left is the premium water pump after I removed it. The pump on the right is another aftermarket replacement. Obvious quality difference. I noticed a noisy pulley and after removing the belt I was able to spin each pulley freely. Lo and behold, my 2-month-old water pump already had bearing play and a very annoying creaking noise. Now I've learned the lesson of buying cheap auto parts lol.
