I did read the reviews before purchasing, so there were no surprises. The lanyard is one of those cheap .05 cents each models that crafters buy from China. It won't last a day. One tug and it's over. however there is a loop deep off in the fur where you can attach a better keychain. This is what I'm doing. As far as is the fur real. I did a burn test. (I'm a crafter myself). Poly and most other man-made material will melt and/or bubble when burned. Proteins/cottons/furs will ash out. Just like human hair. The fur ball I got was real fur. It's also smaller than I thought it would be. About 3 - 3.5 inches. By no means hugh.All in all I would've given 5 stars, but I took off for the small size and the manufacturer saving .15 cents instead of one upping on decent a keychain. I ordered white to hang on my new Cambridge satchel. It is cute. Not as round as the pic shows so it kinda looks lopsided. Off inside it's not round enough to have a round look on the outside.Is it worth $12 with shipping? I don't think so. Thinking about returning it. But do I want the hassle of searching for another one? Hmmmm.
