I bought these for our front door and our 3 year old daughter's bedroom door. She recently moved from the crib to the bed. First she woke up in the middle of the night, left her room and went downstairs to play. We were very concerned that for some reason she would walk through the front door and we would not know about it due to the location of our bedroom. So I bought these to make a sound that would wake me up when she first leaves her bedroom, and then maybe alert us (or the dogs!) if she tries to open the front door! Works great. To be honest I think she understands what they need to do and stays in her room all night knowing I'll hear her trying to get out!
