The only Type-C charger that JUST WORKS! with HP ZBook Studio x360 G5. Power 90 watts

Update: Charger failed after approx. 1 month. Only used once to charge a laptop (for testing purposes). Little use for charging iPhone and iPad via Type C. Too bad. The immediate impression after 5 minutes of testing but not used while waiting for a car ride is that this is a very good charger. It's about 1 inch thick but puts out 90 watts even on problematic devices. I think it has to do with a good software implementation of the PD 3.0 specification. Is the first third-party Type-C charger that works with all my devices a compact car charger? Yes. This BatPower is very promising. My wife's $3,000 HP ZBook Studio x360 G5 doesn't accept any Type-C chargers other than this one, and I was almost disappointed that HP accepts every Type-C charger before I tested BatPower. The HP ZBook Studio x360 G5 turned out to be very good failed at Type C charging. It refuses to use "Low Power Type C Chargers" and throws an error message. The following known chargers did not work with this laptop: Apple 61W Hyper Juice 100W Power Bank Charger IndieGoGo and Macbook reports 100W output) BatPower really works. The 2017 Macbook Pro 13 reports 87W and HP reports a full charge time of 2.5 hours when the laptop is running. Open and working considering the HP notebook draws around 50+Watts in full performance profile and has a 96 Wh battery, which equates to around 90 Wh of BatPower. If it continues to work reliably, it will be a great charger. Considering its compactness and power. With this device, I wonder if it has GaN components. I have a RavPower 45w Type C and this charger is about 30% smaller than the Apple 61w. The BatPower battery has also been greatly reduced and I have to imagine the thermal design being enabled by the efficiency of GaN. HP charger software. I'm glad the BatPower engineering team did it (and the marketing team didn't get in the way).

Pros
  • Hands-free mode
Cons
  • Long time
