Unreliable best inkjet printer

Inkjet printers have been around since the 1980s and Windows 10 since 2014. How is it possible in this golden age of technology that a tech company has such a hard time providing something as simple as a printer that simply prints a document sent from Windows? Seriously Epson? Isn't there too much hope that when I press the print button the document will come out of the printer without having to restart or reinstall the driver or spend hours searching the web for obscure solutions to your poorly performing product? I'm not trying to do something exotic like PowerPoint cloud printing from my Android phone from anywhere else in the world. I'm sitting at my laptop on my home network and printing a test page. With all that money you're making ink replacement, there has to be a small budget somewhere to hire at least one developer who can diagnose bugs and fix some reliability issues. To say this printer was a huge disappointment. How much time did I spend wondering why the 'Next' button was grayed out during installation until I realized I had to click the printer image in the dialog box? More than I wanted. I'm not a tech idiot. I know more than enough about printers, drivers, networking, and software development, which means I know it's probably not a chair and keyboard interface issue. If so, then it's down to Epson's inability to make anything usable for mere mortals. I also don't accept the hilarious "we'll take care of it, contact support and we'll take care of it" suggestions that are always posted in response to these negative reviews from image management companies hired by tech companies like Epson to keep selling inferior products. Everything the support will tell me is already available online and I've already tried it. Should I really spend 4 hours over the weekend getting something as trivial as an inkjet printer up and running? It's not a complex technology. It should just work out of the box, period. IMHO this printer is symbolic of Epson's utter lack of respect for the user experience. I regret the purchase.
