Review on Thirstystone NMC28632 Spoon Rest Grey by William Stevenson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Stone (e.g. white marble) is inherently porous; buy edible mineral oil.

I'm only writing this review because I see several 1 star reviews from people who seem to only buy products that are impregnated with plastic or other sealants. and immediately complained when they carelessly soiled their new white spoon rest. It's a rock, folks. Good God. Buy cheap mineral oil and rub it into all the stone and woodwork you have. This prevents stains and extends the life of your products. Materials that are inherently porous (like white marble and acacia wood) discolour easily. If you fill these pores with red chorizo liquid or any other dark liquid, you will have a hard time getting them out. So unclog those pores, right? You should treat your wooden cutting boards and other stone products with mineral oil at least a few times a year. . . . . My only surprise when purchasing this product (white marble spoon holder) was that it was larger than expected. Tell me I haven't read the description. Looks good and fits well in my kitchen.
