Use Don's instructions and it's very easy.

I only gave 4 stars because of the lack of instructions. Following Don's suggested guide, programming was easy. I went through 3 different instruction sets and couldn't program for my 2004 Mazda 6. Then I stumbled across Don's instructions and was programmed in less than 3 minutes. Remote Programming Mazda 6 20051. Get in the car and close all the doors, then open the driver's door and leave it open.2. Within 24 seconds you have to put the key in the ignition switch and switch the ignition on and off three times, leaving the key in the ignition switch. Close and then open the driver's door three times.3. When done correctly, the doors will lock and unlock automatically. The vehicle is now in programming mode. If the locks don't work, you'll need to start the process again.4. Double-click the unlock button on the first programmable remote control. The door locks work automatically and indicate successful programming. If only one remote is to be programmed for the car, you must press any button on the same remote twice again, wait for the locks to work, and then press any button on the same remote twice more. programmed, then double-click any button on the second remote, wait for the locks to work, then double-click any button on the second remote again. To program three remote controls for this car, you need to press the button on the second remote twice, wait for the locks to work, and then press any button on the third remote twice. Programming complete. Close the door and check the remote controls to make sure the programming is correct.
