. Minus 3 stars for the collapse within a month of purchase and the lack of response from the company. When I first received these pants I loved them. They fit perfectly and look very sharp. The straight leg means you can wear them on the trail and still feel comfortable at dinner later. I'd really like to see them become a regular part of my rotation. However, the design is so bad that they are almost unusable. I had rotated them with several other street pants and worn them 7 times (and owned them less than a month) when I noticed two seams at the back. the waist fell apart. Thought my backpack might have opened them up, I was disappointed in their durability but decided to have a seamstress fix the stitching. The next time I put them on (after a month to return them), I found another seam had come undone, this time on the front pocket. The next time you put it on, the seam in the back pocket came undone. I should mention that I wear these pants with my little one around the house and in the park. I don't go on long hikes or into the woods where they might be in difficult conditions. They are washed on a gentle cycle and hung to dry. I contacted Columbia because these pants fell apart within a month of buying them and they didn't respond at all. I will not buy Columbia equipment again as the quality is obviously incredibly poor and the customer service is non-existent. A big disappointment from a well known and relatively respected company.
