Review on Moen 900 001 4 Inch Smart Shutoff by Trevor Rodke

This device was introduced to me by a plumber that I have used all my life. If I hadn't known him so well, I would have thought it was a regular plumber's sale. I reluctantly bought the device and installed it. Please note that installation will require a plumber or some sort of professional, but apparently my plumber has done this before. it took a maximum of 30 minutes. I'm not very tech savvy so I called and they helped me connect it to my wireless internet at home. It started recognizing and remembering my water usage patterns (you can track this in the app). And after that I checked once a day how much water we use at home. A few months have passed, and now this thing has detected some kind of anomaly in our water usage (don't ask me exactly how). I received an app notification and a call while I was at work. It said a significant amount of water was flowing and there could be a leak. He asked if I wanted to turn off the water. I said damn yes. No one was home so no water was used! Despite the fact that the water was turned off throughout the house, I was worried, so I left work early to fix it (and the wife was already at home, complaining about the lack of water). I didn't notice anything unusual until I looked under the sink in my master bathroom - there was some moisture on the back of the cabinet. The same plumber came to me and said that the pipe in the bathroom behind the closet broke. He changed it which cost me several hundred (now I know why he sold me the Flo device - more profit for him!). But in the end he saved my arm and leg. If you like keeping an eye on what's going on in your home, get one of these. Save money in the long run. It also saved my life. If our master bathroom flooded, my wife would.!
