Very Disappointed: Irons & Steam Irons

As a long time Rowenta owner I cannot describe how disappointed I am with this iron. No problem with the seller. It arrived neatly packaged and on time. I opened the package, took out the iron and it looked fine. Looks honestly honest. I put it on the shelf where it belongs, put my old Rowenta in a box and threw it all away. My mistake, obviously. The next day I poured some water into a new iron and plugged it in. As it got warmer, I flipped the switch to vape mode and heard the ominous hum of the power supply. Thinking it might go away, I tested his ironing skills and he immediately splashed water over my work. I am a seamstress/quilter. Within a few days, the water he sprays changes color. Not quite rusty yet, but totally unacceptable. I have found that NOT switching it to steam but just using the steam button when I need it helps. My last Rowenta, almost ten years old, never did that. If I hadn't thrown him off the counter and smashed him, he wouldn't have YET. As I said, it's really my fault that I threw the box away before testing it, otherwise it would have gone straight back. I think I'll eat it. TO EDIT; Remove a star, from TWO to ONE. There should be an option for ZERO stars. I have treated this iron with great care. Never stop. The tank will be emptied and the vapor will be squeezed out until there is no more vapor. Today I sewed a quilt, poured some water and turned it on. After 5 minutes I went to the iron and it poured hot water all over my work, the ironing board and the floor. This went on until I finally emptied the tank. BREATHTAKING. Seven months. I want my money back. I will try to contact the seller. Carrier buys Rowenta again
