Review on UL Listed AIMS Power 3000W Pure SINE Inverter: 12VDC to 120VAC Conversion Efficiency by Daniel Revlon

Revainrating 2 out of 5

UPDATE 8/10/18 The first one was DOA so I replaced it and now the second unit is back up and running.

UPDATE! When I first read that this item comes with a 2 year guarantee it was music to my ears but when I claimed the guarantee I was told the guarantee was only for 1 year. And since that second 2k pure sine unit broke and I contacted Aims to find out what I needed to do to get warranty service and when I did everything they wanted to get it back under warranty, the shipping cost was $113. it is paid for with return shipping. It's 1/3 the original purchase price and seems a bit over the top. This is the 2nd unit (now dead), the 1st was DOA so I replaced it and now it seems to be working fine, not sure about the advertised 4000w peak power but it seems pretty good too function. I hooked it up to 4-6V deep cycle batteries (golf cart batteries). The 2k block (4k burst) has issues with my 1000 watt mic (1500 watt burst on startup) so I'm not sure how it got its 2k rating in continuous/4k burst. I use 5"000 wire for my battery bank so power is not an issue.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some problems
