First of all I just want to say that this microphone is way better than I expected. For less than $50, you typically get what you pay for electronics, especially if you're looking for an all-in-one solution like this microphone. I thought it came with a stand and filters for less than $50 so it probably won't. God, how wrong I was! Because it's a plug-and-play peripheral, it's almost impossible to install on Windows - you plug it in and it's up and running in 10 seconds. After that, fire up your favorite DAW and get to work. The sound was very crisp and clear, even at different distances from the microphone. There's a hint of background noise, but that's almost always the case with sensitive microphones and should be addressed in the post. You cannot use your own cables as there are no external connectors. That's fine for my purposes (and probably most other people). The stand is pretty nifty - it uses rubber bands to hold it in place, so it's pretty easy to slide the mic in and out for quick access. It might buy you a few seconds if you flip the whole build upside down, but I wouldn't count on it staying there under duress (but that shouldn't be a problem in 99.9% of most writing situations). Otherwise I can only recommend it for the price. I plan to use it for voiceover recording and maybe video game streaming and I know it will serve me well!
