Review on 🏠 Kasa Smart Light Switch HS200P3: 3-Pack with Alexa and Google Home Compatibility, No Hub Required by Anthony Hicks

We have HS200 switches in various places around the house and they are great! Before ordering, make sure your existing wiring has a white "neutral" wire. Most homes built in the last 30 years or so should have them, but it doesn't hurt to double-check before ordering switches you can't use. In addition, the installation is very simple and the Wi-Fi connection is very easy with the Kasa app on your phone. I've seen others ask about fan control with these switches - we've had a switch on our bedroom fan for over a year. now and it works great! No issues with the fan, except you can't change speed with it - you have to use the pull chain on the actual fan to change speed. We leave ours on all the time so we don't really care. Being able to turn the fan on and off in the middle of the night without getting up is a game changer! We chose TP-Link first because they use Wi-Fi and don't require a hub. We ended up getting a SmartThings hub to control our deadbolt on the front door, and there are 3rd party add-ons to control all your switches and TP-Link stuff in SmartThings. Aside from the initial setup of the device, I never have to use Kasa when adding the switch. It's a good app but I'm tired of managing Z-Wave in SmartThings and TP-Link in Kasa. It allows you to manage all your devices in one app, which I really like. Controlling any TP-Link switch, socket or light bulb with Alexa is also very easy to set up and very convenient. I've never had any issues with it and it's really handy to be able to tell Alexa to turn on the lights when you walk into a room with your hands full, or to tell Alexa to make sure everything is off when you do that leave home. My only complaint in about 2 years of using these switches came when our old WiFi router died - I replaced the router and even though I used the same SSID, password and authentication type on the new router, the switches didn't seem to come to it connects. My only choice was to bypass and hard reset each switch and then reconnect it to the new network. We have about 8 HS200s scattered around the house and it only took a minute or two for each switch so it didn't really matter. I knew I would probably have to do that, but I was hoping that with the new network set up exactly like this, they could just connect and work fine. All in all these are fantastic switches and I have no complaints about them. She. I'm thinking about getting some new 3 position switches for the hallway lights and also thinking about converting some of our switches to HS220 dimmers but we don't have dimmable LEDs yet so this is a project for another.
