The UHS-II card reader is just great! The case is pleasant. It's durable, attractive, heavy (which means quality workmanship), and has a magnetic base that attaches to a metal PC case. As for performance. I tested this SD card reader with a Transcend V90 card and was very happy with its performance. I am confident that this card reader can maximize the advertised read/write speeds of all V90 cards when using the appropriate USB port. The card above has a claimed read speed of 285MB/s and a write speed of 180MB/s. I observed a STRONG read speed of 282MB/s and a write speed of 176MB/s. I tested the card reader with the following motherboards and their respective USB ports: Gigabyte X570 USB 3.2 Gen 2: read 282 MB/s and write 176 MB/s MSI B450 USB 3.1 Gen 2: read 273 MB/s and write 172 MB/ sMSI B450 USB 3.1 Gen 1: 274 MB/s reading and 172 MB/s writing Asus Z97 USB 3.0: 264 MB/s reading and 180 MB/s writing USB 2.0: 39 MB/s reading and 39 MB/s writing The test was done by cutting and pasting about a dozen 1GB files from the SD card to the desktop and back to the SD card. My guess based on testing is that any USB 3.1 Gen 1 or better will get the most out of the advertised performance of the V90 cards. Interestingly, the USB 3.0 write test performed better than any other port at 180 MB/s. However, there may be other variables including chipset, processor, etc. In any case, this card reader is definitely worth it. I'm sure it's a guarantee for the future in terms of UHS-II standards.
