First of all, this fan is nice - it looks expensive (probably so) and solid. (Sorry the photos aren't great!) The blade color is what we hoped for and the size and scale are perfect. We had someone install it so I can't speak about the installation - he said it wasn't difficult. It comes with a control panel (no separate remote) that mounts where your light switch would normally be - in our case there were two rocker switches on the wall - one for the light, the other for the fan. He replaced the side of the fan with a fan remote and kept the other side for the light. The only complaints/problems we have is the beeping every time you press a button on the remote - if you change the speed or dim the lights, it beeps loudly every time. Obviously there's nothing you can do about it. Another issue, although it could be a wiring issue, is that the remote control seems to go to sleep. So when I walk into a room and want to increase the fan speed, let's say I can't just hit the fan on/off button. - I may have to press the power button twice (off, on) for it to recognize my command. And even then, I might have to flip a second switch to make it respond. It could be a problem with the second light switch, but I don't know unless we ask someone to look at the wiring again. All this to say that this is the most beautiful fan we have ever seen, so we will probably buy another one for our living room.
