I can't turn it off unless I remove the strap

I really like the look, but with practice they definitely fog up and the display is harder to get working. To remove it for cleaning, you'll first have to remove the strap, so it's quite a chore. It's also difficult to put on without getting dirty. If you don't plan on changing the covers often, it probably wouldn't be that bad, but that's why I bought a few packs to match the front cover to the straps.
