Get what you pay for. Strange act of the twins.

I'm an IT administrator with over 15 years of experience with sound cards and A/V equipment. I wanted to use one of these as a backup (overflow) card in my Canon Vixia HF G21 HD PRO camcorder to record local theater musicals while their sound card was running. The second card was intended to be popped into my Nikon D80 as a spare if the 32GB card we were using ever ran out of space, so the price made sense for the quality. They were never intended for mainstream production. However, there are some weird anomalies as you can see in the picture I posted. I will explain. I used a program called SpeedOut that checks your SD card's read and write speeds. I was using an ASUS ROG (Republic of Gaming) gaming PC, so there was no throttling or channel issues from MOBO. As you can see, both cards performed very differently, and since they are said to be twins, almost relative results if write speed was a factor. I've run these tests more than 10 times each, but I've provided two in a row for illustration. I ran the tests one by one, Card 1, then Card 2, then Card 1, then Card 2, here are the results: Card 1: 75.30 MB/s read speed and 11.44 MB/s write speed Card 2: 81 read speed , 03 MB/s and write speed 34.04 MB/s Card 1: read speed 76.16 MB/s and write speed 11.51 MB/s Card 2: read speed 83.12 MB/s and write speed 34.22 MB/s card. Tests continued to give the same results. I also cleaned each connector head with an alcohol wipe to ensure no dust or dirt was causing any problems. still the same problem. I can only imagine that one of these cards is bad and I should expect it to fail much sooner than the other. At the same time, I hope to live with a slower card for at least a few months. If not, and he will die within a week or two, I will report here. Hopefully they will honor the warranty if this happens. That being said, for the money you can't beat the price. The second card is fast and both worked great on my two devices (Nikon D80 and Vixia camcorder) even without formatting. I'm giving them 3.5 stars because to be honest I expected the same performance from the twins, not that much of a difference. but can't give a 3.5 so they are lucky with 4* because so far they meet my expectations. However, I will downgrade them to 3 if they die within a month no matter how little it costs. Hope that helps!
