The bulbs themselves are not bad. Bright enough for our needs. Not as bright as dedicated single-color LED lights, but that's to be expected. What you lose in sheer brightness, you gain in versatility. Lamps are easy to set up. But the app needs a lot of work. The real surprise is that you can't log into the same account from two different devices at the same time. I was really surprised when I found out about it. For example, if I want to adjust the light, I either have to ask my husband to do it, or re-enter the application myself (and force it to turn off). This deficiency alone will put us off buying more Vont lamps until it is fixed. Another oddity of the app is that if you try to match a custom color or pattern in the DIY category, you can choose a color, only the app uploads the picture (or takes a picture with your phone's camera) , rather than picking it from a color palette or something like that. It's weird and awkward, and the app tends to interpret black as lighter colors like white when "picking" a color from an image. The actual hardware seems pretty good, but until the software catches up we'll have to forgo the update. The rest of our lanterns use Vaughn lightbulbs.
