Really good intermediate printer + for pls, updates needed for some other filaments

So far we really like this printer although it does have a few points that need to be addressed before you can really dive into the work. You can really get a lot of quality with this printer. We use a height of 0.2 for almost everything and it works pretty well. However, to get the most out of this printer you will need to slow down the speed slightly to around 60mm. 80mm is fine for most prints, but if you want detail and a nice finish, go for 60mm. - Incredibly quiet! One of the quietest printers we've ever used. The improved board really makes a difference for these riders. A good 90%+ of the noise comes from the fans. Everything else is bearings if the X/Y axis is making large/fast movements. - As you would expect, it comes with all the tools and parts to assemble and maintain this printer, plus some extra parts (nozzle, connectors, a few screws). It also comes with a half-size white filament spool so you can start somewhere, but we'll mention that in the cons too. - The printer is quite stable thanks to four legs instead of two, and you can print on it with much more stabilization. We recommend printing the armrests of the bed, as well as the stabilizers for the frame (only two for the two rear legs). The build quality is very good, everything is mounted evenly and firmly. - The assembly comes unassembled, although it is somewhat assembled for you. Most of the hard parts are done and all you have to worry about are the easier parts and connecting the wires coming out of the bottom of the power supply. We used instructions from time to time, but we didn't have to go to YouTube or anything. For the most part it was pretty easy. The instructions are even printed on the top of the base, so it's always at hand. Cons: We also recommend printing a strain relief for the cable where it connects to the heated bed. It only connects via two solder points, so it's not the best design for something that moves a lot. Luckily the bed moves very slowly so you don't have to worry. However, you can accidentally grab and pull on the cable while working, which can stress the solder joints. The hand helps prevent this. - The thread that comes with it is not the best. In fact, it broke halfway through printing the cat design pattern, as you can see from the pictures. We replaced the regular filament we like to use and everything printed just fine. This resulted in us having to thoroughly clean the extruder before switching to another filament as it broke at this point leaving fragments there which caused the extruder to skip until we figured out where the last few pieces were hidden. Therefore, we recommend that you AVOID the filament pattern that comes with this printer. - The bed could be more expensive to compete with brands like TEVO. - You cannot print on ABS right away. You should replace the print bed with a non-magnetic one that can get hotter, replace the nozzle with a non-copper/soft metal nozzle, and completely enclose the printer in a box or zip-lock case for easier access. everything is warm inside. Despite all the downsides, this is a GREAT printer that does a really good job of fine detail when needed. Or you can spit things out at high speed if you crank it up to a speed of 80mm and a layer height of 0.3+ (although if it's more than 0.3 you should swap out the nozzle for a larger one). We recommend masking tape on the magnet cover if you intend to continue using it as the print will stick MUCH better than directly on the magnet cover. We found that printing directly on the cover caused the first layer to slip about half the time unless you really slowed down the speed, which isn't much fun. Just make sure the layers of ribbon lay evenly next to each other with no gaps or bumps, otherwise you'll see them at the bottom of the print. You can also opt for a PEI-style magnetic topper, which doesn't require any bed modifications as it will sticks like a standard topper. We've found that prints hold up better (and peel easier) on this printer. ** If you found our review helpful, please rate it below so we know.
