I bought this to replace my professionally molded TMJ night guard as I absolutely cannot sleep without it. I was planning on keeping it in my travel bag "just in case" and figured if it performed at least 50% as well as the $800 protection I normally carry, it would be worth it. Spring. Turns out I prefer this one! I think it's because I could choose the jaw position I wanted. I also like that it's soft instead of hard like my usual as my issue is compression and the softness kinda encourages me to relax rather than tense. I will say that the whole sculpting process required some study. The instructions are quite detailed and if you read them well, you are well prepared. The only thing they don't warn you about is NOT to let the guard touch the side of the hot pan when you take it out. This seems obvious, but your impulse will be to strain the excess water out of the spoon by tipping it over the edge of the pan. DO NOT DO THAT! My first attempt ended in a twisted, melted mess. Go ahead and just squirt all that extra hot water onto a damp paper towel. That's what it exists for. I was pretty happy with my second try and survived my third try so I stopped there. Did I mention you have SIX attempts to get it right? Of course you can always make a new one after you've worn yours, which should take around 3-5 months. This gives you a reserve for 1-2 years!
