I like this calendar book. It has a pocket in the inside back cover that can be use for loose papers, and it's attractive and has 2 place holder ribbons. It has 3 years of monthly calendars, and many, many blank pages for notes. I like that best about it, so I can almost overlook the fact that the pencil holder isn't great. I can't find a pencil or pen big enough to snugly fit in that loop. The loop is in the middle of the book, so even a small pen with a clip would hang down below the book and flop around . I ended up putting a small pencil in the loop and putting a rubber band horizontally around the book to hold the pencil tight and the book closed. I had to put several thicknesses of a different rubber band on the top of the pencil so it wouldn't fall through the book's loop. Then I tucked the rubber band attached to the book inside and don't use it- I'll probably end up cutting it off.
