Review on NuTone 87546000 B Unit Assembly Ventilation by Jason Yancy

Exact replacement for NuTone 769RL; easy installation!

The fan on my 769RL has fallen apart. After replacing the supercharger, the engine quickly stalled, which means I would have saved time and money by buying the entire B block. Lessons learned. The product description does not list 769RL for this device, but it is an exact replacement; In fact, the label on the device says "769RL". The replacement took about 5 minutes and it works like new. If you're not as slick as me ('skillful' means someone who isn't afraid to step in and screw up pretty much any home project before hiring a pro), don't be afraid of this job. First, NO wiring. If you have a 769RL or similar block, here's everything you need: #2 Phillips screwdriver, flathead screwdriver (size doesn't matter, ask my wife), 7/16" socket (deep is better, but it doesn't absolutely necessary) ) and something to power them. Gently pry off the lamp cover with a flat blade; turn them to a safe place. Remove the lamp when it has cooled. Lower the plunger slightly and then unplug the power cord. The lamp socket holds the outer frame to the ceiling, both are now free Insert the nut into the inverted lens to avoid losing it Disconnect the B unit and use a #2 Phillips head to remove the screw securing the B -Unit folds down (to the side opposite the sockets where the plugs have protrusions) and then comes free. Insert a screw into the lens. It can be very dirty in there, so you can vacuum/wipe/clean with an old toothbrush for now. Installing is exactly the opposite of removing. I recommend checking turn off the fan before reinstalling the bulb socket (I have it on a separate switch) and test the bulb before reinstalling the lens. All of these steps and parts will become obvious as soon as you look at them.
