I have bought these knives 3 times. They are better. My daughter, who works as a chef, told me that if she only had one knife, this would be it. I use them for cooking, for cutting bread, they are great for cutting onions and tomatoes, I cut vegetables for salad, cut fat from meat. I don't even use them as steak knives because I have fancier ones, but this is my number 1. At first I bought a large set that included a cutting board and 8 steak knives, but over the years they disappeared and I replaced them. I've had all sorts of knives, including the Cutco, which cost over a thousand, they're sharp, but they're not as balanced as the Victorinox, they're not as good at prep work, and they don't feel as good in the hands on . Great buy at a great price.
