Purchased in July 2017 but stuck just put it in the projector. My existing lamp has around 1100 hours so I bought it as a backup. Should have tested it immediately, but got around to it today (12/13/2017). The lamp has 1/4 brightness (very dim) of the original lamp (with 1100 hours). All colors are faded and dull. Went back to my original lamp and it works fine. I may have received a defective item but it's a shame I can't return it - should have checked as soon as I received it. Such a waste of money! Attention buyers! Update (January 13, 2018) I contacted the seller around December 18, 2017 as the lamp has a 6 month warranty and I had about 10 days of warranty left. The seller was very responsive and offered to send me a new lamp if I returned the defective lamp. I sent them back over the holidays and received a new replacement bulb 2 days ago. The package was exactly the same as before, except that the box was additionally shrink-wrapped. I installed it today and wow it works great - just as good as it did when I bought the projector with the original lamp. Great seller who stands behind their product and honors their warranty. I am changing my rating to 4 stars. If it works well for the next 6 months I will provide another update and change my rating to 5 stars. Update (09/15/2018) The lamp has reached 460 hours and works perfectly. Colors and brightness are excellent. Upgrade to 5 stars. Update (9 April 2019) The lamp has around 900 hours and works great. Excellent value for money and quality. Update (03/12/2021) So, last night around 10:00 p.m. the light bulb exploded (exploded) without warning (without dimming the light). Turned it off immediately as I heard the tinkle and rattle of glass exploding inside. During all this time he was so disappointed with SmartEco that he didn't last more than 3000 hours. Many people work 5000 hours on SmartEco with an OEM lamp, and the original lamp is rated for the lamp life: 3500 hours (Normal), 5000 hours (Eco), 6000 hours (SmartEco). I opened the projector and there was no explosion. t in the lamp housing. All glass splinters vacuumed. I also found that the lamp housing glass had 2 scratches from the explosion. I still have the original lamp with a mileage of 1164 hours. Installed and the projector came back to life. Now I'm looking for a replacement lamp. Haven't decided yet if I'll buy this again. The rating has been changed to 3 stars due to the short lifespan. Check out the photos. I have included one showing the original OEM and labeling of this lamp.
