I'm doing a Christmas light show and the RS-485 computer output is CAT-5. While the devices are usually daisy chained I had to fan out the signal and they work great. However, Ethernet cannot be shared. Because of this confusion, 1 star is deducted. Even though the description clearly states that two elements cannot communicate at the same time, it shouldn't be called an Eternal Splitter - it's a CAT-5 splitter. If they intended to sell it for Ethernet use, I don't see the point. While I'm shocked that my niche use was intended, I wish the Chinese ad was true.
