I've been researching how they should work. 2 ethernet cables straight from the router connect to a connector to form one cable which then splits into 2 ethernet cables at the other end. What is the purpose of this splitter that can only run one line at a time? I was confused by the way it is sold. Obviously there are others who share. Of course not this one.

I wanted to connect both TV and cellphone antenna to Ethernet and bought this set. I connected the original cable from the router, one to the TV and the other to the antenna. My TV showed intermittently disconnecting and reconnecting the network cable. I used to connect the ethernet port from my router directly to the TV and never had this problem. So that just tells me there must be a problem with the new port splitter.

I'm doing a Christmas light show and the RS-485 computer output is CAT-5. While the devices are usually daisy chained I had to fan out the signal and they work great. However, Ethernet cannot be shared. Because of this confusion, 1 star is deducted. The description implies that they reflect all 8 connectors. A photo says no. Well both are correct, in my experience I bought two pairs and got two ("Cat/5A/6A") reflecting all 8 pins and two ("A/B"), which combine the first two pairs. (the only ones used in many ethernet connections) so it is (in many cases) possible to have two physical ethernet connections on the same cable using an "A/B" connector on each end of that cable to attach. I bought a pair of these adapters from another vendor and both ports work at the same time when installed as in fig 1 and 6. A few months later I bought a pair from this seller (Oxsubor) and they did NOT work. My cable tester showed that despite looking almost identical, they are connected differently. Adapters that are NOT working have all 8 wires duplicated on both ports. They are technically just a coupler with an extra connector and cannot act as Ethernet cable splitters as Ethernet devices
