I have been using the Canon EOS 5D and 5D II for a long time and have assembled a good set of lenses. But the time has come to ate the camera, and for October-December 2022, I considered different cameras, taking into account their prices, and this is what I got: - Canon 6D II. On the plus side, good ergonomics and excellent battery life with JVI, but DPAF without eye detection and only through LiveView, which significantly increases the shake. Video without 4K. - Canon R/RP. Plus, a more modern DPAF with eye detection and through EVI, which simplifies dynamic shooting and reduces movement, and also simplifies shooting during the day. There is 4K, albeit with a crop. In minus autonomy and ergonomics. - Sony a7 III. In plus, very good 4K and better DD, stabilizer on the matrix, minus very expensive and not a complete park of optics without analogues of my lenses, poor ergonomics, no full-rotation screen. Conclusion: switching to Sony is not justified for me (primarily because of the optics), the choice between 6D II and R / RP was more difficult. Here you need to look at your preferences: - you need good autonomy, classic ergonomics, work with gloves and enough to take pictures of people through LiveView - then take 6D II - if you want to photograph people conveniently and a lot, including on the move through EVI with full DPAF operation - take R or RP, it's really cool implemented there. I'm happy with the Canon EOS 6D II, it's a great camera for its level. A good choice with a reasonable approach, I recommend!
