If you're looking for a classic shaving soap with a laurel rum scent and rich lather, you won't find a better product at this price point. In terms of bay rum smell, this is a real McCoy (perfectly balanced essences of cinnamon, clove/spice and bay leaf rum). The lather of this soap was thick, fragrant and persistent. I applied a layer before saving and did NOT have to reapply due to scattering. After shaving, the face became soft and smooth. Since it's a glycerine based soap, I was able to put it in a shaving soap dish, put the dish in the microwave and light it for 15-30 seconds (depending on the power of your microwave) to melt the soap to suit the shape of the bowl. Will definitely buy this soap in the future.
