Review on GM Genuine Parts EGR Valve Kit 214-2020 with Pipe, Connectors, Gasket - Enhanced for SEO by Jared Bradford

05 Chevy Equinox - no more EGR leak!

I bought this kit because my Chevy Equinox '05 had a ruptured exhaust gas recirculation pipe (as if it had just ripped into pieces and the cab would have then smelled exhaust). I found out that Equinox 05-06 had a tech bulletin for a valve upgrade, which meant the part I really needed (the EGR tube) was no longer in production; The price of a remanufactured part of a remanufactured car is worth as much as this kit, if not more. So I got this kit, ripped out the old one and put the new one in. It was pretty easy if you pay attention to the wiring (it comes with a schematic and some heat shrink/crimp tubing so you don't have to solder). Also, I didn't have to reflash the PCM to prevent a "Check Engine" light from coming on. I just cleared the codes and was ready to go. TIP: Keep the 3 screws around the valve itself as they are not included (2 attaching the valve and 1 attaching the tube to the valve; I cut the last one off but I took the valve to Ace Hardware brought to get a new one - I don't remember, but it may have been an M8-1.25x25mm bolt.)

Pros
  • GM recommended replacement part for your GM vehicle's original factory component
Cons
  • I won't say anything
