Just as good as the original Canon lens hood at a much better price!
I am very disappointed with the pricing of the Canon lens hood. For the EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM, a genuine Canon lens hood costs $44. It's a piece of plastic that might cost a few dollars to make and doesn't have a lot of engineering behind it. So I was happy when I saw a third party product that replaces the ET-74B hood. I don't have a direct comparison with the original Canon lens hood for this lens, but I think the quality is the same as other original Canon lens hoods. I own.
