Review on ☕️ Hamilton Beach 12 Cup Programmable Front-Fill Coffee Maker with Thermal Carafe, Black and Stainless Steel Finish by Susan Alexander

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Fell he's making coffee

I put off replacing my 2008 Hamilton Beach Stay Or Go as long as I could because it was built like a brick house and the thick glass thermograph kept my coffee hot late into the night. I was concerned that this new model would have the same issues as the Cuisinart version I bought for my parents last year: it feels cheap, is made of thin, low-density plastic, doesn't brew very hot coffee (they put it in the microwave). ) and the "vacuum" thermal insulation pales in comparison to a thick piece of glass. Unfortunately, all of these fears were justified. This model is essentially the same as the Cuisinart at this price point, although I like the user interface better. The device wobbles out of the packaging. Not enough to send it back and it's clearly heavy on top, but I think that's another reason to make sure the bottom is flat. Maybe a few more broths will settle the plastic in place. But for the price it's almost what I would expect. I wish I could go back to '08 and grab a spare - even the next-level reviews aren't great. I have serious doubts about the durability of the turntable holding the base, otherwise I find it almost satisfactory. Oh, I think I should also mention that it's terribly loud and takes a long time to brew compared to my old model, but that probably doesn't help much unless you're catering to a teenage coffee pot yourself. The real problem, as others have pointed out, is that it's nearly impossible to pour a cup of coffee and pour all the coffee in. That raises the rating from four to three stars and I think I'm being pretty generous. If you buy this, grab a kitchen towel or two dark colors to keep next to the pan. Even if you dump your mug down the sink, it will leave a streak on the carafe wall on a good day.

Pros
  • Front fill design. Makes filling the water tank easier and helps reduce the amount of dirt dripping onto the counter.
Cons
  • Too Long To Wait
