The fit and finish will not receive any aesthetic rewards. They are simply designed for absolute durability and reliability, like all Glock products. I've checked many different knives for long-term reliable survival and have concluded that you don't have to spend a fortune to get the job done. Sure you can spend hundreds of dollars on a custom made survival knife, but that's only for collections or showing off, the simple fact is you can get the job done with a $40 knife that could easily last you a lifetime. You can destroy them, but you have to work very hard for it. Are there higher-quality blade steels? Sure, but I highly doubt if they would really make a difference in a survival situation. They're inexpensive enough to have a few on hand for the price of a high-priced unit. Are there cheaper blades? Sure, but would I trust cheap blade steel? nope They're for military use, and I trust that.
