I bought to replace the Panasonic GH4 for shooting video (and sometimes photos) in the first place. Here we should immediately make a reservation on several things: firstly, I like to shoot dark scenes and Panasonic in this regard is not able to oppose anything at all. In the shadows, it makes noise even with minimal aiso, and constantly noise canceling is a strong crutch. In addition, the quality of Slow motion is much worse on the Panasonic GH4, which was also quite important for me. As a result, I sold the fourth hash and took Sony for about the same price. You can meet tests where Sony wins in detail in 4k mode, but a strong rolling shutter practically eliminates this advantage. When moving, a fairly strong jelly is obtained. However, I also note that I have not yet had a single shoot where this would greatly interfere, which cannot be said about overheating. With the release of the latest firmware, Sony has made it so that the camera will shoot to the last, not paying attention to overheating. Here it should be borne in mind that you will heat the matrix strongly and noise will appear, but still something. The limit of 29 minutes of recording is also easily removed, google it. Who here screams about the battery? The problem is solved quite simply. Buy PowerBank from xiaomi for 20220, connect it to the camera and it will work for you on one battery at least all day (but in 4k mode the battery is still spent a little faster than it can charge, so itโs better to have only one spare). By now I have used both the Panasonic GH5 and use the GH4 regularly. Panasonic is clearly the leader in purely reportage shooting, where quality is not so important. There are quite a few reasons for this. But there is, so to speak, a "semi-stop" where you can't fork out for cameras of the BlackMagic Production level and higher, and Panasonic will give reportage (oh yes, it's just worth mentioning the Small Matrix here). In general, I would recommend a camera for purchase, but keep in mind its purpose and all the features. Having experience in using different cameras, I would say more, but the characters ran out.
