Review on Accurate Digital Stem Thermometers for Precise Temperature Measurement and Inspection by Tim Surridge

I bought this maple syrup thermometer (after dropping the digital meat thermometer in the sap and ruining it). All in all, this works very well. Accuracy is good (in 0.2 degree Fahrenheit increments in my case). The temperature is reached relatively quickly. I bought the 30mm version to reach my high simmering cauldron. It comes with a good calibration certificate. The numbers are large and fairly legible. Suggested improvements to get those 5 stars? The MIN/MAX button does nothing in my case. The limited instructions don't even mention it. It would be great if I could set the MAX to beep when it reaches the desired temperature. A clip to attach the stem to the rim of the pot would be a bonus.
