Review on ๐Ÿ‘ž Crosshatch Gray Whitmor Over The Door Shoe Shelves - 26 Sections by Josh Andrews

Cleaver design, poor construction and materials

I really wanted this to work! I hung it on the door with the included hooks and started loading the shoes. (Remember only one set of hooks is included and the hook sizes are for really wide doors. This was a problem as the hooks then didn't lay flat on the door.) My shoes are women's 9.5 and men's. 8 shoes and I only loaded shoes that were thin/small enough to fit in my bag. When loading, I noticed that the bracket is crooked. I assumed it was just because it was folded and would straighten up when I put the weight of the shoe on it. Unfortunately, it didn't straighten up even after I rearranged the shoes to change the weight distribution, leaving me with the hanger sticking out 5-6 inches over the door. If it was on the side of the hinges I wouldn't worry, but it was on the side of the handle so it got in the way when the door was closed. After loading the shoe into the holder for 30 minutes, I noticed that all three attachment points had snapped from the weight of the shoe being placed in the holder. I also noticed that the rather small metal hooks were bent. I assure you I didn't load this piece with heavy work bootsโ€”we're talking Sanuk sandals and flip-flops, a pair of Chuck Taylors (the heaviest of my shoes), lightweight Saucony Jazz sneakers, and lightweight laces. model shoes. This design makes much better use of space than traditional shoe door organizers, but definitely requires some upgrades in workmanship and materials. Therefore, I am sorry to report that my search for a place to store shoes continues.
