I was beginning to hear the internal arcing of the old relay. I ordered this gem, installed it and my bike started right away. It was a personal choice but the fuses came with arc caps so I chose not to remove the factory cap. If you look at the left clamp in the picture you will notice a flat edge that will prevent the positive wire from rotating in the ground when properly installed. I think the cap is to prevent an arc from igniting the sulfur gas and the caps on the fuses should do as long as you get the wires tight.
