Nothing says denial about your weight like an elastic waistband.
Well, these are perfect. I mean I still think I am a 34" waist but I just think they make clothes larger now or like this set with a large elastic waistband. You can wear a belt with it as I do. I thought they would be ridiculous but they look like a nice set of black dress slacks and I am very impressed by them! Very comfortable, let me think I'm still a 34" waist and look awesome!
