Sharpens unevenly, some say. It was said, perhaps by the company or the seller, that the lead was not in the center of the tree. No! Many pencil brands have the wood cut on one side and, as you might expect, barely cut on the other. I suspect this is caused by the feature preventing you from sharpening the pencil to the point by holding it when the point is on it. Even turning the pencil while sharpening doesn't prevent uneven results in most cases - see photos of Staples #2 pencil. The tip is sharp but as you can see from the photos it cannot be used as the wood reaches the tip on one side. Also, the engine seems to have problems. Nice and durable, but more of a paperweight than a sharpener. Also many chips fall behind the tray. It works when the tray is not fully installed, which could be the reason. Perhaps this explains his apparent struggle. In this case, however, you should not run.
