The unit does test batteries nicely, is cheap, is easy to use and so far can be trusted to find the functional state of several different kind of batteries. The idea behind the display makes sense. This tester is a typical Chinese product. The manual is written in terrible English. The case is a simple plastic case without any features to fasten it to a work bench setup. The front scale is done in extremely small print which makes it a challenge for some people to read. The handle selecting the various battery types on the front scale is just black. It would be nice if it had a pointer so the selection is easier to read. I put a small drop of white paint on it which solved that problem. The display really leaves something to be desired. You need bright light to read it. The background of the LCD display is somewhat dark. It is not backlit. If the background of the LCD would be in a light color, it would be much easier to read. In summary; this tester works as advertised, but does not leave me with the satisfaction of a good purchase. I very recently purchased several Fluke products - what a difference! Enough said.
