Very simple plug and play connection. Get started fast.

This review is for a 4-camera wireless NVR with no hard drive. This system was very easy to set up and operate. Simply connect the main unit to a power source and a monitor or TV via the VGA or HDMI connection and connect the cameras to their own power supplies. After a few minutes, they connect to the NVR and display their video. Use the included USB mouse (or your own) to answer some setup questions like time/date and location. This system can be used without a network/internet connection if you do not wish or are unable to connect it to the internet. Although the cameras are wireless, do not connect to your WIFI network. but only on the base unit. The network connection is made via the Ethernet port on the back with the supplied home network cable. You can then scan the QR code to link the TuyaSmart app (I used the Android version). Your cameras will then appear in the app, where you can also link many other smart devices from other brands. In the app, you can turn on the microphone on the camera to hear audio, or click the microphone in the app to answer through the camera. While the on-screen menus might not be ready for your parents/grandparents to use, anyone who has been using the technology for a while should be able to click through to find out. Everything was very well wrapped and packaged. The camera mounts can swivel and pivot to almost any angle and even come with mounting screws/wall anchors. My biggest complaint is that the power cords for the cameras (DC jack) are not very long, less than 4 feet. Extension cords are available online/Amazon to increase the range.
